Clinique moisture surge intense accutane -

It's just a mess honestly. Show Offscreen Content. Cerave for Babies.

Talk about a game changer. It also has SPF in it, which helps take one step out of my skincare routine when I wear makeup. I hope this was helpful to any of you who are experiencing super dry skin this winter or are dealing with problem skin.

I truly support and recommend all of these products, but I just want to reiterate that these are the products that have been working for me. As usual, if you ever have any questions you can leave a comment on this post, or email me at samantha preptista. Good luck to you too! Can I give you some tips on surviving accurate and getting your gorgeous skin back?

We first learned less is more. So I also have eczema. I survived acne gone. After college graduation and career job it came back. Silly me I thought OTC products would work. My new dermatologist reassured me less is more.

You can get the same results on a baby dose. Cerave for Babies. When my nose was bleeding in the winter from dryness my doctor prescribed an ointment to keep my nose hydrated. If you do not have medical insurance, what also worked great was applying vaseline where my nose felt dry. That was a quick and affordable remedy. To prevent dry, chapped lips you will need something that gives your lips constant moisture. I love all of the products I previously and I actually do use all of those, but when I was on Accutane and my lips were as chapped as firewood, the only chapstick that really worked was Vaseline Lip Therapy.

I used many body lotions while on Accutane, but the one that gave me continuous and lasting hydration was Vaseline Baby Jelly. It is sticky, but when your skin gets dry, stickiness is the least of your worries. I actually loved the hydration the Vaseline Jelly gave me so much that I continue to use it even now. I alternate between using the Baby Jelly and other regular body lotions like Nivea.

Keeping your hands moisturized in the winter months is something you should be doing even if you are not on Accutane. Ensure you are constantly hydrating your hands, because if you do not your skin gets flaky and extremely dry.

It made my hands feel very silky with the right amount of oils. Most are pretty resistant about going to that unless they feel confident you've tried everything else and it hasn't worked. Thank you so much for replying and sharing your experience!

I know, Accutane really changes your skin. I am okay with splurging as skincare if it delivers better results and it is the only thing I tend to splurge on, as sad as that sounds oh and food! My acne is by no means severe, however I just have horrible texture, lots of hyperpigmentation and scars which makes my acne look ten times worse, bumpy, clogged pores, a few inflamed pimples.

It's just a mess honestly. It looks pretty alright with make up on but I don't want to be horrified with the idea of ever stepping out bare-faced. I work full time and I'm married now and I and neither my husband has the time or patience for long extravagant skincare and make up routines all the time. I just want clear, smooth, normal skin! I have most definitely tried everything and then some. Countless skincare systems, cleanser, moisturizers, topicals, antibiotics which eventually give me infections "down there" because they kill all the good bacteria in my body!

Spironlactone for hormone therapy, which caused me gastrointestinal bleeding which was absolutely horrifying. I am also allergic to benzoyl peroxide which happens to be in a lot of prescribed face washes and topicals from the dermatologist. So honestly, there is not much left besides bad skin and lots of frustration.

Sorry to hear you've had such bad reactions! The only thing I will say is I'm not sure how much accutane does for skin texture, and past hyper pigmentation and scars so much as it stops acne from forming in the first place.

In theory that should make you happier with your skin over time because you won't be getting any new breakouts. But if the scars left behind and hyper pigmentation from old breakouts are a big part of what is bothering you I'd make sure you mention that to your derm. Not sure if you've tried it, but I've had a lot of success with medical grade peels for dealing with that kind of stuff. And also Differin not sure if that is one of the topicals that didn't work for you.

I do get the frustration though. I saw a derm from college on and never saw much relief until I did accutane. My skin was perfectly clear for about 2 years then the acne returned so I needed to do another course. Then it came back about a year later but has been much, much better managed since. And finally I seem to be breaking out much less frequently now so maybe my hormones have finally calmed down.

The fact that there is no easy fix and so much experimentation is needed can be frustrating. Hopefully you at least have a derm who is willing to work with you because post accutane it took trying different combos of things to get to a point where I was happy. I have a friend who took Accutane, and she swore by Aquaphor. It was the only thing that worked well for her skin, especially since her skin was already really sensitive before starting Accutane.

My daughter is taking Accutane right now. She is basically sticking to products that are very hydrating and designed for sensitive skin. She also is experimenting with overnight masks because she finds that those really help with combating dryness.

I have an appointment with a dermatologist this weekend and I will hopefully be getting Accutane. Also why I have no idea what my skin type is anymore. Extremely acne prone but also get dry and flaky easily. I know it's a tall order, but I just want to find my holy grails and stick to them. Accutane makes your skin thin and extremely sensitive and dry as well because it reduces oil production in your skin! I am also very sensitive to fragrances.

I'm on month 3 of accutane, and I'm a huge fan of the Bite Beauty Agave lip mask. It's literally the only thing that even kind of works right now and I swear to you, I think I have legit bought and tried every lip balm out there right now. As far as cleansers and moisturizers, they have to have virtually nothing in them to keep my skin from getting itchy, so I'm just doing cetaphil as a cleanser and cerave am and pm. I KNOW!

I was recently on Accutane and loved First Aid Beauty. Your skin is going to be so dry since the Accutane stops your oil production and it will also be sensitive. Beware your lips will be extremely dry and flakey. Hope this helps! Good luck. I second the recommendations for really gentle, hydrating cleansers.

I had a much leaner budget when I was on my rounds of accutane so I stuck to mostly drugstore products like cerave, cetaphil and eucerin. The cetaphil cleanser was no frills, but it worked well and Eucerin Aquaphor was a godsend for places that tended to get especially red and raw like around my nose. Years after taking it my skin is still on the dry side so I still stick to things that are pretty hydrating, non-drying and no more than lightly fragranced, if possible.

I'd especially make sure that you're not using anything else on top of it that's meant to fight acne or has strong active ingredients like retinol. These days I've been really loving GlamGlow's thirsty cleanse and Ole Henriksen sheer transformation as a lotion. First Aid Beauty products have also worked really well for me.

I really like their oatmeal mask for days my skin is irritated. And when in doubt, I'd just ask your derm. Mine was great about instructing me what to do and what not to do. Otherwise you still might get some side effects without the benefits. That said, if it is a new derm I wouldn't be surprised if they want to start you on other things first. Most are pretty resistant about going to that unless they feel confident you've tried everything else and it hasn't worked.

Good luck and remember to stock up on lip balm! Thank you so much for responding! I have never used this but it seems to look gentle with no fragrance, crazy sulfates but still has some beneficial ingredients Charcoal, a little bit of glycolic acid etc. I am intrigued!

Cetaphil, Cerave, etc. I know what you mean about the Vanicream, honestly I have tried both the vanicream and vanicream lite lotion recommended by a dermatologist, and I was not a fan of either. But if she likes vanicream and if it is working well for her, then for her face she can try the vanicream lite lotion, I believe same formulation as the thick cream but more liquid, lighter and easier to spread. I know everyone is different, but I found Vanicream to be my savior when on Accutane.

The extra water barrier allowed the cream to spread easier and added a smidgen more hydration to my skin. Just my two cents! I will tell her to try that with her Pixi facial mist. Thanks - I didn't even know there was a lighter Vanicream. Maybe when she's finished with the CeraVe she can give that a whirl. Luckily she doesn't seem to have an adverse reaction to those types of products.

We're mostly sticking with drugstore brands she's in college and any samples that I might have, hence the Clinique and Origins, but I will check out the Boscia cleanser if she starts to have a problem with what she's using now.

Cetaphil, Cerave, etc. Thank you for sharing! I never had acne and only really ever experienced a minor breakout every once in a while… until last year. It has an SPF 15 which protects your skin from damaging UV rays, it improves minor fine lines it has improved mineand it has some skin essential antioxidants that protect your skin from premature aging.

My whole life I have considered myself extremely lucky when it came to my skin. I never had acne and only really ever experienced a minor breakout every once in a while… until last year. I started to notice a change in my skin last spring, but, as soon as summer rolled around and I was spending time in the sun, it went away. Then fall rolled around and my skin flipped out. I tried every at-home remedy in my arsenal, pimple patches , drying lotion , face masks, you name it.

But, these only seemed to be temporary fixes. Finally, I decided to go see a dermatologist and found out that I was experiencing adult acne. I had always had somewhat dry skin before starting the treatment, but nothing could have prepared me for the dryness I would get from Accutane.

Not only did my skin look dry, it felt tight and uncomfortable. I was literally uncomfortable in my own skin. Long story short, these products did not work for me at all. Both of these products are amazing. The cleanser makes my skin feel clean without the dryness and the cream provides long-lasting moisture that makes me skin glow and feel plump when I wake up. My favorite for everyday use is this one from Supergoop! The skin on the backs of my hands got so dry that it felt like there were scales, but I tried out this hand cream and it made such a difference.

One thing I found particularly surprising and discouraging when I was doing research about accutane was the lack of recommendations for makeup that works well with the severe dryness. It took me a while to get my makeup totally sorted, but I finally found a few products that really worked for me.

Talk about a game changer. It also has SPF in it, which helps take one step out of my skincare routine when I wear makeup.
